With over 18 years of experience as an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Weems embraces evidence-based medicine as the guide for adopting new surgical techniques and technology for his patients. He has performed robotic-arm assisted surgery for partial knee replacements for several years and is now providing total knee replacement surgery, also using the robotic arm.
Dr. Weems follows a down-to-earth philosophy in his medical practice and life. “One of my favorite quotes comes from Reba McIntire,” he explained. “‘To thrive in life, you need three bones – a wishbone, a backbone, and a funny bone.’ In other words, dare to dream, have the character to do and stand up for what is right, and never forget to laugh.”
Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Weems has practiced in Texarkana since 1999. He is a graduate of Texas Austin College, Sherman, TX, where he majored in biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern – Dallas, TX, and completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Texas A&M University – Scott and White Hospital.
